HAIR FALLING OUT
B R O K E N
What does broken look like?
Broken looks different to each of us out here in Pattaya, Thailand. But we are all BROKEN.
Broken from the arrival at the airport, to the ride to our house, just broken.
Broken from the first morning as I lay awake at 4:30 in the morning listening to sounds all around me. Birds chirping, dogs barking, monks chanting…
Breath in – Breath out
You’ve only been here 24 hours.
Oh great Thai food – nope nothing like American Thai food – I’m going to starve.
Justice Students – young people with BIG dreams
Everything falling apart around us – am I at fault?
Came to serve – REJECTED by man
BREATH in – BREATH out
Justice Students – Need someone to guide them, feed them, disciple them.
OUTREACH – My heart HURTS for these beautiful faces. You’ll never get to see their eyes the way I do, or their smile.
Come back again PLEASE they ask. WHY? So I can play games with them and buy them a drink so they can feel safe.
I BRING safety – HOPE – COMPASSION – LOVE – PEACE.
I carry the Prince of Peace and the Comforter with me where ever I go. (Isaiah 9:6, John 16:7)
Jesus help me through tonight – I see their pain! It breaks my heart; it leaves me BROKEN.
What do I do? I must do something, for I know and I cannot turn away.
RESUCE – ONLY 2 – only 2 LORD? Why not more? How about them all?
T R U S T and L E A N (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Learning to lean – feeling like I’m going to fall over. Learning to trust – people again.
GOD will NEVER leave me.
I hear HIS voice so soflty yet so loudly in this bizarre place. I see sign of GOD moving all around me.
YET – I still ask Him, where are you? S H O W me. I NEED TO SEE YOU.
OUTREACH – HEART BROKEN
Tonight the team will pass out condoms with a message; You are loved and precious! “The Lord said: “I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” Jeremiah 31:3. If you need help you can call (phone number).
These young ladies are crying out, DO YOU SEE ME?
Answer: YES! dear daughters, I see you! I see you broken, bruised, and used. BUT, I LOVE YOU ANYWAYS!
I M P A C T is happening. C H A N G E is taking place.
How can this be? In a place so dark, desolate, and seemingly forgotten.
JESUS and PRAYER
People like you and me willing to give up time, energy, home, and even family.
We travel to the darkest places to sit with young women who sell their bodies. Is this willingly? NEVER. If they had a choice; no one would ever think so little of themselves to willingly, night after night give themselves away.
How much? As little as 100 baht = ($3) an hour or 300 baht = ($9) a night.
Yes, you are reading that correctly these young women and men will be sold for as little as $3 a hour.
BROKEN – HEART BROKEN
Go-Go bar (a bar where women wear little to no clothing and dance) Each young girl has a number. NO NAME. You can point to the women you want with a laser pointer.
My girl sat next to me and held my hand while she told me her story. She has a daughter (2years old) her mom takes care of her. She likes the beach, movies, and relaxing just like ME. Why does she work here I wonder? She told me the answer… her mom wants me to work here because she makes a lot of money. HEART RIPPED OUT OF CHEST
NEVER- EVER-IN A MILLION YEARS!!! NO NOT EVER- would I allow, encourage, or even joke about my daughter working in such a place.
MOMMA’S Where are you? Do you stand with me? Could you send your daughter to pay for your debt? JOIN ME IN PRAYER FOR THIS YOUNG LADY.
This is a small testimony. I’m trying to find words to put everything we see daily on paper. Be on the lookout for some video stories telling you more. I’m working on not crying.
I AM BROKEN.
S/HE IS BROKEN
We know the only one who restores HOPE and can mend a BROKEN HEART.
P R A Y …. For….strength, hope, peace, compassion, mercy, joy, but most of all for…LOVE
L O V E that can only be shared by knowing JESUS CHRIST.
